I worked with Alex Chiu from May 2017 through July 2018. Alex was our Server Systems Technical Support person, as a representative of his employer, Epic Systems. We were in nearly day-to-day contact, as my company had recently purchased Epic Systems as our Electronic Health Record. Alex demonstrated every day that he is a tireless, dedicated, adaptable, and highly intelligent person - who chose to put his skills to use in the Epic realm. Alex ensured we were fully prepared for Go-Live and even worked with us to handle issues that were far outside our normal orbit of operations. My team and I hold Alex as the "gold standard" by which all technical support personnel are judged. Alex didn't ask us if we wanted help. He offered it. Alex didn't have to pull us out from pitfalls. He helped us avoid them. Alex was never caught off guard about our company's configuration or new product features. He was always in the know. Alex is the kind of person who puts enough energy into his work, that whatever he's doing, you are thinking two things: How did we get by without him? Can he set the example and all other teammates be more like him? Alex is more than competent in Epic Systems Cogito products. He is also a blossoming Microsoft SQL Server database administrator. Alex is an excellent communicator and he adapted well to my team's needs for a strong personality who does his homework and can stand behind his "go/no-go" decisions and will not allow his company or his team to be led astray. He does not remain passive when faced with situations where there are unknowns. He investigates and engages the team to ensure everyone knows exactly where we are headed with a change to a system or process. Alex inspires confidence in his teammates. He improves morale. If you already have seasoned employees, Alex holds his own and finds ways to improve processes and systems. I would hire Alex to work on my team, regardless of industry, without reservation.

Working with Alex during his tenure of support for NGHS, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The knowledge that he had in his area made for an extremely smooth transition to Epic for our hospital, more specifically in the Cogito portion of the application. I was also pleasantly surprised at the vast amounts of knowledge he had in the areas that interacted with Cogito as well. He is extremely courteous and has tremendous business etiquette. Barring anything abnormal, his responses were always prompt, timely, and accurate. One thing that really stood out to me with Alex is that if he didn't know the answer to something, he would make the time to find it. He is, by far, one of the best support techs that I've ever worked with. I would absolutely recommend his services to any employer, any time, anywhere.
