I met Alex when I joined Dods in 2011, at that time he was an essential character among Dods' employees, organising socials and welcoming new comers. Alex is a true gentleman, maybe one of the latest, respectful and polite; He is a real pleasure to work with, easy going, attentive and helpful, he always carry a smile and will be the first to provide support. He has also shown on several occasions strong negotiation and relationship building skills that greatly contribute to his commercial success. Additionally, Alex is really reliable, and dependable, he can be trusted with a project, knowing he will care for it, make it grow and make it bear fruits; as well as he would take care of his friends and his professional network. Alex is definitely a rare gem, any company would regret to let him go. I would highly recommend him to any company and would like to collaborate with him again.

Employed within the subsidiary of Dods known as Westminster Explained which is the training branch of The House Magazine, the weekly journal for the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Westminster Explained is the leading private sector provider of training and development to the public sector delivering both of open courses, available to anyone from any department or organisation, and of bespoke training programmes designed specifically to meet an organisational need. My role in the conference division was to oversee/managing sales whilst liaising with the conference producers. Over the course of a year we ran about 12 specialist public policy conferences aimed at a target audience of senior civil servants and private sector professionals depending on the topic being covered. Each conference has between 100 to 350 + delegates and several high-level sponsors. Speakers are predominantly MP’s and Peers and experts from the private sector. Show less

Most people’s impression of what a councillor does is that they just attend council meetings and nothing could be further from the truth. The duties and pleasure, of being a local councillor are many and varied, however it is the ordinary day to day contact with local people in their own community that is the most important part of being a councillor. One of the most important tasks of a Councillor is listening to and understanding the views of people in their community. Many public bodies or organisations acknowledge this is the hardest information for them to capture and they in turn use the skills and local knowledge of the city council for advice to assist and inform their services.
