Alex was always the goto guy for knowledge of the older systems. His retention of knowledge longterm was extremely impressive. But it wasn't the knowledge retention that impressed me most, that probably goes to his out of the box thinking. There were several times where Alex solved problems by bringing together disparate systems by additional means that no one else ever thought of. Then, when the solution is presented to you, everyone in the room looks at each other and asks, 'why didn't i think of that.' Didn't matter, we had Alex, a creative and brilliant architect of solutions. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alex, as he is a pleasure to work with, a team player, and a great technologist.
