  Working 4 years in Department 484 Internal Structures at Electric Boat. Day to day work has been on the interior bulkheads, furniture, and miscellaneous fixtures of the Columbia Class Ballistic Nuclear Submarine; utilizing NX and Altair Hyperworks modeling softwares, traditional calculations, and engineering judgement to determine the structural integrity of living and operational spaces during shock events. Work in this position as required maintaining cognizance of company and Navy specifications and standards as to the design and construction of submarines to ensure quality of the final product. While at Electric Boat, I have researched, wrote, and provided technical recommendations to the Navy customer on multiple structural drawings; prepared and presented design results to the ranking Admiral at NAVSEA and SUPSHIP for validation from the Navy; and have worked with an interdisciplinary team of six engineers to clear structural Change Notices (CNs) addressing conflicts with one of the missile tubes as it was being prepared for delivery to BAE Systems in the United Kingdom Show less
