Undergraduate Research Assistant

Mar 2018 - Dec 2018
I worked in a neuropsychology lab that researched the effects of environment during early childhood on brain development. As a research assistant, I primarily collected data through the administration of different puzzles, tests, and memory tasks to children between the ages of 9-12. I helped the lab with logistics as well, such as sending biological samples to be analyzed, and updating files and scheduling future appointments. Additionally, I conducted MRI scans of children’s brains to use in longitudinal modeling as the children grew older. Show less

Peer Counselor
-
Dec 2017 - Jun 2018
I worked as a Peer Counselor, primarily counseling first and second year undergraduates. I worked with students to plan classes, choose majors, and find activities geared toward professional development for each of my students. I also counseled students who had received academic probation or had been dismissed from the university. In this role, I referred students to different resources on campus and served as a resource for dismissed students to eventually get re-admitted to UCLA. Through my work as a Peer Counselor, I was able to help 10 students get off academic probation and helped readmit students who had been previously dismissed from the university through outreach methods.
