Medium and long-term planning of the extra voltage network of EnBW, load flow and short circuit calculations, extra high voltage switching station design, evaluations regarding extension of existing switching stations, investment profitability evaluations Project leader of the study carried out in cooperation with the “Institute for High Voltage Switching Station Technique and Electrical Industry” in Aachen (Germany): “Target network configurations for the Extra High and High Voltage Network of EnBW with the objective of long-term costs reduction”. The project results demonstrated that it is possible to achieve long-term economies based on system meshing reduction and simplification of the configuration of extra high voltage switching stations. The impact of the maintenance and the availability of power plants and network components such as lines, transformers and bus bars were taken into consideration. For that reason, reliability calculations for a complete extra high and high voltage network of a large electrical company were carried out for the first time in Germany. Vice-project leader of the study realised in cooperation with “The Institute for High Voltage Switching Station Technique and Electrical Industry” in Aachen: “Future maintenance strategies - short-term costs reduction on the basis of maintenance minimisation”. The results of this project were obtained by using reliability calculations for the whole extra high and high voltage network of EnBW on the assumption that some network components can be left without maintenance for a longer than average period of time.
