  This was undertaken as a placement year however continued to work for a few months after this to help with hand over and grow my skills further. This role involved processing all income invoices/credits and sending them to customers/suppliers whilst also getting relevant documents signed off through various levels within the organisation. This role helped me gain invaluable skills which I have brought through to my university studies as well as other parts of my day to day life. One of the main skills I developed further was communication as I had to contact numerous individuals and talk to people with varying levels of accounting knowledge. It was also relevant within the company as to make sure that everyone was aware of what was happening. This was all done with a tight timescale and having to have a quick turn around of work meant added pressure which helped me grow my ability to work within a certain timeframe whilst also getting the best work produced.

It gave me an initial insight into the working world and how vital teams are within the workplace as well as key communication skills. This was all done within a fast paced environment and to high standards as we wanted the repeat custom of the public. I also helped with cash handling and transactions which helped me start to understand the need for double checking all information which was given and change which was handed back.
