  This experience was tied to a senior design course during my final semester, so it was an unpaid position and is technically scholastic experience. The professor who led the course is the Planning Manager for the City of Pomona. The purpose of this position was to create or improve the general plan, in relation to housing, in the form of recommendations. The City of Pomona recently implemented transects into the general plan to step away from Euclidian zoning. In order to reach the city's housing goals, this led to a need for visions of new opportunities. I took a holistic approach to housing issues within the city, specifically for areas of low median household income, that lack amenities and are underfunded. After completing a list of recommendations and creation of conceptual drawings, it was compiled into a Planning Commission report and presented. - Reviewed General Plan, analyzed zoning and transects along Towne Avenue, identified stakeholders and POIs. - Developed a community-oriented corridor concept focused on: ◦ Community development ◦ Economic development of formal/informal businesses ◦ Redefine public space with natural systems ◦ Mobility of active/public systems - Authored recommendations to the Development Services Department and City Council. - Presented research and analysis for recommended next steps to over 20 audience members.
