Alexander is an astounding professional - scrupulous, attentive to details, always coming up with the solutions, both technical and business. He approaches the problem from both the inside and outside perspectives, taking into account business side of the technical solution at all times. While working at Mellivora Software as a CTO & Senior Data Architect, Alexander had been tensely involved in ETL and Big Data projects, and his core strength and tech stack involved (not limited to) Pentaho and Hadoop ecosystem, and all of the following: Stream data: Apache Kafka Indexing: ElasticSearch Computational module: Hadoop (Cloudera): Hive, Impala, HBase, Sqoop, Spark ETL and workflows: Oozie, Apache NiFi, Pentaho Kettle Front-End: Ruby-on-rails, Postgresql, Apache Zeppelin, Jupyter Platforms: Amazon AWS, Google Cloud BackEnd: GraphDB (Apache TinkerPop stack: Gremlin, JanusGraph/Titan, ElasticSearch 6.0) Languages: Java, Python, SQL It's been a pleasure working with Alexander, he's a true asset to both ours and the clients' teams. My highest possible recommendation.
David Clarkson
Alex and I worked together on a travel based client project, where the goal was to aggregate multiple sources of data into a single validated set. The project had some customer and hardware driven constraints to work within, mainly around technologies and system resources. The data Inputs and Outputs ranged from MySQL, XML, JSON and Binary files, Couchbase and MongoDB, with limited system resources. In addition to this Alex worked directly with complex internal systems and built integrated ETL steps which extended the use of our own APIs. Alex always looked forward to the challenges and was keen to find solutions. He uses his wide ETL experience to try different solutions for each problem. Alex is a highly skilled ETL developer, and it was a pleasure to work with him.
