I was an educational consultant for the University Of Southern California, Davis School of Gerontology, helping the school implement and develop new courses and educational programs. The school was primarily concerned with combating the growing need for properly trained individuals to help care for the elderly (including the quickly retiring baby boom generation), an issue of growing importance in our society. I assisted the school in the creation of a new master's level and certificate programs in gerontology. I was a writing and photography intern at the Los Angeles Downtown News for a period of six months. During that time my cheif responsibilities were updating and maintinaing the website, and contributing weekly blog posts. Additionally, I was able to contribute a couple of major articles to the paper, three of which went into print. Aside from my writing and editing responsibilities, I also served as an additional staff photographer for the paper. Over the summer I worked as a camp counselor and media intern for the innagural Derek Fisher Basketball Camp. Funded by the Boys and Girls Club of America and a number of other donors, the camp was designed to teach basketball to underprivilleged youths in the LA area. My professor at USC, who knows and worked for Derek helped me get this position, where I handled a variety of situations.
