Menlo Park I built the Facebook voice assistant on Portal from scratch and mainly by myself: - Built out core voice commands, particularly the calling and navigation ones - Aligned many engineering teams (Device Software, Speech NLU, Assistant ML, and QA), owning the entire feature end to end - Mentored and onboarded several engineers into the workstream, converting one of them from a contractor into a full-time hire with the company - Drove XFN collaboration between eng and QA, TPMs, design… Show more I built the Facebook voice assistant on Portal from scratch and mainly by myself: - Built out core voice commands, particularly the calling and navigation ones - Aligned many engineering teams (Device Software, Speech NLU, Assistant ML, and QA), owning the entire feature end to end - Mentored and onboarded several engineers into the workstream, converting one of them from a contractor into a full-time hire with the company - Drove XFN collaboration between eng and QA, TPMs, design, and PMs - Went deep into the AOSP stack to convert voice from a module latched onto an activity to a service running across the app, making sure that it played well with audio focus and the media player Show less

Redwood City, CA - Continued developing/supporting core features for Course Hero's Android app - While writing a lot of the actual code, I also wrote architecture documents for large tasks and participated in scoping out product requirements and evaluating designs. I went over every code review to maintain code quality and allow myself to read every line of the Android code base at least 3 times - Maintained the Google Play Store Listing - I did all the release management, merging branches into master after they're code reviewed, setting up alphas, writing instruction sets and creating Postman collections to help my team test builds, and promoting code to prod when it's ready. I also kept an eye on all the app statistics, responded to all the written reviews, and in the early days, I was even taking the app screenshots for the store listing - Implemented Android recruiting strategy end to end - Alongside doing the actual interviews, I helped write the Android job posting, created a set of phone screen questions (both for general interviews and Android-specific ones), and built a small Android app and spec for it as the technical portion for Android engineer onsite interviews - Established best practices - I wrote over 50 pages of documentation for the Android team wiki, outlining the culture, environment setup, git branching strategy, development best practices, code review best practices, and the explanation behind the Course Hero Android interview process
