Sailing teaches the valuble life skills of resilience, self-reliance and teamwork. At Sail Up we believe these lessons are best learned on the water and our mission is to get kids to start sailing and keep sailing. We connect young sailors and sailing opportunities, support school programs and competitions, and provide scholarships so that young people can continue in the sport we know they'll love from the start. We are always looking for new opportunities to support young sailors. Contact us for more information.

I manage and supervise 125 sailors and 10 staff members of the Ida Lewis Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program and Brenton Cove Racing Teams. Sailors range in age from 6 to 16 years old and have experience ranging from beginner sailors to World class competitive sailors. In the last 3 years I have revamped two of the courses offered in order to better suit the needs of the children in our community. The result was increased participation numbers, and a new generation of junior instructors to support the program. I coordinate the busy summer competition schedule for the Brenton Cove Racing Program, including scheduling transportation for sailboats, coaches, and motorboat assets. I collaborate with club members and parents on special events and fundraising, including family dinners, banquets, and the annual auction.

As a daily substitute teacher I effectively delivered lessons in a range of disciplines. After each day, I gave an account of class progress to the absent teacher in a detailed report. Additionally, I served as an Assistant Teacher for the 12th grade AP English course. While assisting, my role was to support students during class and provide one-on-one assistance to students challenged by the difficult and fast paced curriculum.
