In this role I had to manage the account of three Chinese clients which involved running their social media channels and communicating with them daily using WeChat in order to receive and share new media and news. Tasks included updating news stories on company websites, copywriting, producing original content to share across the appropriate channels, working on strategies to increase followers and engagement, ensuring the channel schedules are filled and managing the budgets for paid promotions. I ensured that all English copy my clients produced was correct and written in a way that is suitable for a western audience, advised them on branding and on the kind of media they could provide us in order to create valuable content for the channels. I updated clients on the growth of their audiences via monthly reports and responded to any enquiries received via the channels on a daily basis. Another part of the role was to analyse the websites and social media channels of prospective clients and produce presentations to show them how Make It China could help to promote their companies. I would identify in these presentations which social media channels would be the most appropriate for the prospective clients and would include mock ups of what their channels would look like. I have travelled to China where I met with my existing clients, attended a trade show to promote Make It China’s services and make new connections, and attended meetings and dinners with potential clients.
