I’ve known Alexa for 4 years now, we worked together at One Kings Lane when I was still in San Francisco. Having been a fresh college graduate at the time, I was apprehensive about starting my first job in an office environment as a Customer Service Rep. I had no idea what to expect but having Alexa there truly helped. She made work exciting for me by not only being the mentor I needed, showing me the ropes when it came to handling customer issues, but making me feel included within the team. When she became one of my managers, the transition was seamless. Although the work dynamic between us had changed, it didn’t feel like a huge change because she already exhibited how easy being a leader came to her. I respected her even more when this occurred as she’s the kind of person who can provide clear direction to a team when needed but is also approachable enough to go to when I felt I had to voice my concerns. One of the greatest traits I admire about Alexa and am personally grateful for, is her ability to help one find the confidence in themselves. She encouraged me to apply to a higher position internally and supported my decision to eventually leave for the New York branch of One Kings Lane even though it meant I would no longer be apart of her team. It’s nice when a manager is able to guide you in everyday work because they want the team/company to be better, but more so when they show they have your best interest at heart and believe you are capable of so much more. I know Alexa will continue to have an impact wherever she goes and highly recommend her for any position she applies for.

Alexa joined the team of Miramar Farms in the summer of 2014. She has been transformative in making our garden bloom! From the very start, Alexa has been a self-starter, disciplined and reliable, a hard worker, and incredibly knowledgable about soil prepartion, pest management, composting and planting. In addition, Alexa is a delight to be around and her positive energy spreads across our team. We are thrilled to have her help at Miramar Farms and can't wait to see what the spring and summer will bring with her keen eye on our garden.
