Senior Account Manager
-
Mar 2017 - Apr 2018
Beginning in the role of account executive and advancing to the position of senior account manager, my time at RMS saw me work primarily as part of the agency’s B2B and corporate PR team. I worked to run pro-active press office activity and build fully-integrated strategic campaigns to raise awareness of our clients with their target audiences - positioning them as leading experts in key national, regional and sector media.

Copywriter (work placement)
-
Dec 2014 - Dec 2014
As a copywriter in Laing O’ Rourke’s work-winning department, I was responsible for proof reading and subbing all construction-project bid documents prior to their submittal to the client. This required high standards of spelling and grammar, ensuring that all documents were written in a professional manner and formatted correctly into house style. Copywriter
-
Jan 2014 - Nov 2014
After completing a three-month internship, I was offered a full-time role as copywriter at the digital-marketing start-up Improve Agency. I was responsible for creating SEO-optimised web copy for a number of lead generation websites including car-rental website flexed.co.uk, cctv.co.uk and businesswaste.co.uk. In my role, I developed a good understanding of how Wordpress operates as a content management system and gained experience using Google’s keyword research tool to help contribute to an effective SEO strategy.

Journalist (work placement)

Jan 2014 - Jan 2014
Having completed an NCTJ-accredited diploma in journalism with the Press Association, I began 2014 with a work experience placement at the Telegraph and Argus in Bradford. This was a tremendously rewarding experience, which gave me the opportunity to get out in the community and cover a range of local stories. This resulted in several bylines in the paper, including a front-page picture story. Journalist (work placement)
-
Aug 2012 - Aug 2012
A work placement at the Lancashire Evening Post was my first experience of working in the fast-paced environment of a newsroom and, as such, was incredibly valuable. During my one-week placement, I helped reporters research and write stories to meet tight deadlines, providing me with an early appreciation of the time pressures associated with working in print journalism.
