I worked at the mechanical shop building leading approximately 36 Mechanical / Electrical craft workers combined across three shifts. I utilized several different software programs daily such as METTS, EARL, LISS, MAMS, and E-Services to assist me with operational planning solutions. Also, I gathered data from the Daily Dashboard and other BNSF links to create and email the daily shop summary report. In addition to working on the mechanical shop side I worked the DSF side where I led approximately 18 Mechanical / Electrical / Labor craft workers combined across three shifts. The main software applications used at DSF consisted of MAMS, LISS and Wi-tronix. I researched and prepared data for both the morning division and MLU calls. Once a set of fresh power arrived within the DSF limits, I arrived them systemically, constructed them on the electronic map as well as hung them on the next available train(s) to build in LISS. Oversaw and ensured the shipment of (15,000 +) orders per day were processed accurately and efficiently while focused on 5S Lean practices as well. Also I was involved with developing Kaizens (improvement plans) for the facility in order to continue meeting/exceeding our customer demands. While completing a brief tenure with the company I was placed in charge of performing quarterly cycle count procedures on locations with a variance over 1%. I generated reports that listed same sku locations and systemically created new bin slots for a team of 11 employees to re slot product in order to open at least 20 new bin locations per shift. I volunteered working overtime, doing 10 hours per week for 3 months, to help stay ahead of about 1,000 new sku items that arrived daily. I was contracted to reestablish and organize the way shipments were routed into the facility. During a short tenure period, I managed to improve the dispatching department by developing the clerk administrator to handle an extra 50 – 60 deliveries weekly in order to meet $150K worth of order fulfillment for the month. I gave instructions to a team of 3 associates on how to pull bulk FIFO/LIFO orders utilizing RF scanners. I was contracted to reestablish and organize the way shipments were routed into the facility. I controlled the quality department on all 3 shifts, provided leadership and support to 4 direct reports, and ensured the P&L reports were in alignment. I developed a $2500 monthly budget for supplies and equipment that was needed for day-to-day operations as well as special projects. I coordinated weekly meetings to review departmental goals, policy updates, production numbers, customer feedback, etc.. Traveled to Houston, TX 3 times to help establish the new location with inventory, performed hiring interviews, directed 2 shifts of 7employees and 2 supervisors on the expectations of the department. I oversaw 3 direct reports and 90 – 100 temp employees covering a 100K sq. ft. facility. Acted as a liaison when it came to dispatching inbound containers into the building. I controlled the hiring/firing interviews with lease labor associates once the monthly budget of $3300 was approved. I helped train and cross-train a group of 10 supervisors between two contracts, preparing them for the start-up of a new location overseas. I monitored the picking production of 20 team members in a 3PL warehouse while ensuring we met online fulfillment orders too. Maintained staff by collaborating with other members of management for additional resources, contacted agencies for lease labor support, and recruited workers from our affiliate warehouse. I created an excel spreadsheet that tracked fast vs. slow moving product, which improved order pulling by 25%. Also in my short tenure with the company I developed a power point presentation illustrating how 3 injuries recorded last quarter could result in a 100% safety record for the next quarter. Show less
