Having inherited quite a monolithic system, one of my tasks consisted in decoupling it and made it robust and scalable. Obsessed with algorithms and database efficiency, had to keep up to the development process on a fast moving company, implementing features, ensuring backward compatibility and correct API design, effective communication as the single Backend developer for almost over 2 years. - Scaled it from supporting ~7k MAU to 500k+ MAU and millions of users. - Brought TDD and DDD to the mix. - PM tools, such as JIRA (+ GitHub) involved to correctly coordinate across teams and provide visibility. - Sprint planification and management, as well as specifying requirements and doing follow ups. - S2S event structure implementation. - Integrate multiple payment gateways and control the renewal cycle of hundreds of thousands of subscriptions.
