  I am an architect and researcher focused on understanding how techno-social solutions support the decentralized, community-led activities of Movement Organizers in the Wikimedia Movement (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Organizers). The Wikimedia movement is a community of knowledge sharers and activists who are enabled by the infrastructure of Wikis like Wikipedia and Wikidata -- to create knowledge that has meaningful impact on the world. For more on my approach, see: https://diff.wikimedia.org/2022/04/05/part-i-anyone-can-edit-is-not-a-strategy-for-growing-the-wikimedia-movement/This work includes: * Advising the Campaign Product team and other product teams to design world-class organizing infrastructure that helps communities run events and successfully invite new contributors to Wikimedia Projects * Developing topical expertise on global Topics for Impact, such as human rights, the climate crises and larger topics of sustainability and helping the movement develop partnership strategies to fill knowledge gaps.* Managing the Global WikiForHumanRights campaign, run in partnership with UNOHCHR and UNEP, which pilots campaign tactics, to close key global knowledge gaps about human rights and sustainability. *Mentoring and advising community organizers who develop and implement innovative calls to action across dozens of languages and every corner of the world. *Communicating about the role Wikipedia plays as in facilitating access to knowledge around topics like Climate change in the face of increasingly closing world challenged by misinformation. * Advising the design of design research and academic research which advances the Wikimedia Foundation's understanding of key topics and organizing tactics in the Wikimedia movement.

  I connect the needs of the Wikimedia Movement's Organizing community with support from the Wikimedia foundation through research, documentation, instruction, partnership and supporting community pilots and strategic investments in shared infrastructure. Documenting the world's knowledge requires systematic and intentional investments in the organizers who build community around that effort. This work includes: * Providing community knowledge and leadership for the Movement Organizers design research * Forming a technical and social strategy for scaling Content Campaigns through the Wikimedia Movement, and growing a team to meet those needs * Leading content campaigns like #1lib1ref and #WikiForHumanRights * Developing expertise in allied movements and topics, such as climate change, human rights and the library sector in order to effectively meet those communities*Supporting international collaborations with World Health Organization, UN Human Rights, IFLA, and regional and local partners

  I support the Global GLAM-Wiki community, which focuses on help cultural heritage organizations (principally Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) share, create content, and otherwise engage with the Wikimedia communities projects. These relationships often use a wide variety of outreach strategies, and my job is help communities effectively use these strategies, the technologies needed for engaging the GLAMs are accessible, and ensure that the WMF is supporting those efforts.
