In the role of Business analyst/Sharepoint developer, I reviewed the existing process, provided recommendation for the GNS Consolidation solution for the current Newcrest Sharepoint document management system (CDocS). Objective is to centralise the document numbering sequencing process in all of the major functioning groups within Newcrest for the CDocS system (document management). This solution is being implemented as part of Newcrest Sharepoint governance requirement and ongoing SLA support. In my current activities, I built a Sharepoint development environment for the proposed solution, migrated and built the required Term store and content type (Meta data) of the existing solution. I configured the existing document libraries and it’s workflows to reflect the production process. There are 2 different CDocS solutions being utilised by Newcrest, the corporate function area uses an automated GNS process but broken by section. The mining sites use a provision GNS numbering process within a manual process. The GNS consolidation model will automate the sequence numbering generation of the document number only, Newcrest functioning area specific document management process is not part of the scope. I redesigned and configured defined SQL objects and modified 2 customised workflow solutions (Visual studio 2010 C#/Sharepoint Designer) as part current scope. Configured various document libraries Content Type definitions (Meta data) and adjusted various term store data to reflect the new GNS requirement. I am developing the UAT testing and implementation requirement into production including the regression testing procedures based Newcrest project management methodologies. Dues to length of the project system testing will not be required.
