Alex is a detail-oriented architect, always providing objective driven designs, following well established design patterns and best practices that are the best fit for the challenge at hand. Frequently engaging the team in mini-hackathons, peer programming sessions to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration, the team loves working with him. Yes, the phrase "thinking outside the box" gets overused, but Alex easily sees and implement solutions that others cannot even begin to propose. His skills are far above what is often expected and time and time again has been able to provide great insight when needed. I would never hesitate to recommend Alex as he is an incredible asset to any organization. If you are reading this because you plan to interview Alex, do yourself and your team a huge favor by hiring him now.

Blue Pillar is an exciting IoT startup that connects energy assets. I was brought in as a senior developer working on the platform team. The main work centered around collection, storage and analytics of time series data coming from the company's gateways, RTUs and third party APIs. In addition to working on main features of the platform, I took a leadership role in driving the company to write cleaner code, utilizing best software engineering practices and adding code reviews to the definition of "Done" for story completion. To help get that effort underway, I introduced a coding standards document and peer code review practice to the team. In order to keep the team sharp and current with technology, I also created and lead a weekly meeting where I would go through technology news of the week. Developers would also share interesting projects that they work on in their off hours. This meeting helped with morale and team comradery as well as took a time out from the pressure that came with delivering a sprint on time. As the company was going through a growth spurt and began experiencing issues with scalability, it became apparent that the culture needed to change in order to keep up with the work and still have a work life balance. To help, the company established a culture team where issues could be identified and solutions could be proposed. I served as a member of that team and helped in creating a more transparent and agile culture at Blue Pillar. Show less

I joined the smarter remarketer team as a team lead. Smarter Remarketer is a fast growing startup providing marketing solutions. The current offering is completely hosted in AWS. My duties included supporting the production stack and helping mentor a couple of developers on my team. I was also heavily involved with backend migration of the current platform to a new version. I was responsible for the implementation and architecture of several SOA services and their integration with the platform. I joined the smarter remarketer team as a team lead. I started working for Autobase as a Theoris Inc. consultant, where the effort was underway to replace their legacy Delphi application with an MVC .NET hosted application. In time, I was brought on full-time and became an integral part of the organization and one of the leaders on the development team. As Senior Web Developer, I am assigned design and implementation of large and very complex core functionality of the middle tier. I am expected to work with vague requirements and anticipate business needs, based on past experience. I also serve as an information resource for the other team members. I am expected to serve as a mentor to more junior members of the team, educate the team on key concepts, and lead project teams. I am also expected to make presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences. My responsibilities include helping with the interviews of candidates and playing an important role in the final decision making on their hire. I am also a member of the divisional architecture committee, where I represent our team in divisional technical discussions. Show less

I joined the Online Architecture team after completing a side project for them earlier in the year. As a growing consulting firm, Online Architecture had a need to hire an in-house developer to support their workload. I worked on small to mid size desktop and web applications. I was assigned crosscutting functionality and was expected to implement needs in all layers from state persistence to UI.
