  My role at Screen Interaction is predominantly iOS application programming (iPhone, iPad, Swift, Objective-c, Cocoa touch, Xcode) but also encompasses a variety of other duties and platforms.   I developed an Android app to give realtime visual feedback for runners. The application gathered data from wearable physiological monitoring sensors (heart rate, breathing rate, galvanic skin response, acceleration) and on device sensors (GPS and acceleration).

  Designed, developed and user tested a sonification (audio feedback) system for the movement of a golf club during a swing. The system was built as an iPhone app, it synthesised audio in realtime with libPd and received movement (accelerometer) data over Bluetooth from a VariableTechnology NODE sensor unit.To help develop the above, I created a realtime movement-based sonification sketching system using PureData and custom iPhone apps.

  I took the role of 1st year undergraduate year leader in early 2007 and continued until mid 2011. During this time I managed year groups of between 45 and 70 students. Designed, prepared and taught course units in a variety of photographic disciplines and conceptual areas. Taught practical photographic skills in the studio, on location, in the darkroom and digital facilities.Coordinated with staff in the department and throughout the university to deliver course content. Gave students critical feedback, creative and pastoral support. Organised numerous student trips, gallery and studio visits.I believe I helped build a positive environment for students to work and enthused them to create photographs.I participated in a one month academic exchange with the Nanjing Normal University in Nanjing, China. During the exchange I delivered practical photographic workshops and gave critical feedback to undergraduate students on campus in Nanjing.
