Systems Security Engineer

Currently working as a Systems Security Engineer supporting an Army sustainment effort inside of SEC. Lead the project IA efforts to ensure compliance levels and Lab Accreditation was obtained. Authored and reviewed project documents including MOA’s, SOP’s and various technical documents. Collaborated with high level project management to create and maintained project timelines and budgets. Ensured that all Systems and Applications were available so mission tasks are completed on schedule and without added difficulty. Lead Systems Engineer

Lead the complete redesign of the IP networking for both SSTR and NIPR networks which included the configuration of Cisco Switches, Routers and Firewalls. Planned and executed tasks to comply with security standards for development and production environments. Coauthored the creation then lead the execution of multiple information assurance testing plans, in order to discover security vulnerabilities inside of web applications. Supported an Oracle web cluster that provided mission critical services to the DOD. Key Contributions: • Lead the complete redesign of the networking infrastructure to provide full redundancy at the network level then met and exceeded established SLAs. • Provided a scalable networking security solution that included the provisioning and deployment of Cisco ASA’s. Met security compliances with a minimal downtime for configuration and installation. • Supported an Oracle web cluster hosting critical web applications for the DOD. Daily and weekly tasks included vulnerability scans, backup disaster recovery testing and deployed new releases of the web application • Provided both high level and technical documentation as deliverables to meet scheduled milestones established inside of the contract. • Begun the planning and configuration of a virtualized solution to provide scalability for future additions to the network, also to increase utilization of the current physical server environment. With my time at HALOTEQ I served as a System Engineer working with virtual technologies including Cloud Computing, and infrastructure management with a specific concentration on the VMware ESX hosted platforms. Additional responsibilities incorporated system administration and engineering of Windows 2003 and 2008 architectures in support of common business tools such as Exchange (2003\2007\2010). My daily tasks included constant communication with my Engineering team on current open issues, and also company leadership on strategy for advancing the company. Key Contributions: • Designed a high availability VMware ESX virtual cluster to host multiple private cloud environments. • Developed a fully automated operating system deployment service that backed up user’s profiles then installed a fully customized Operating System Image and all user applications including Microsoft Office, Antivirus Software, and a Monitoring Agent. • Implemented a fully cloud based Microsoft infrastructure to support Active Directory Services, Microsoft Exchange and Group Policy Objects. The infrastructure spread across multiple locations supporting over 300 users. • Configured and supported a wide range of networking infrastructure including Cisco, WatchGuard, SonicWall and Juniper.
