  I was employed as a Design Associate at EGD. Primarily this involved producing schematic masterplans that develop into CAD plans to be used for planning and construction. The job required very good time management and high attention to detail. During busy periods I was working on multiple projects for all four of our architects, in 2009 I set up an outsourcing program where I managed excess work done by a CAD bureau. I always took an active role in each project and tried to gain an understanding of all aspects of the design. Latterly there was a need to carry out some initial design work on par-3 courses, practice areas and strategic bunker placement. I remain keen to develop my own design skills further and hope to learn more about construction in the coming years. I have benefited greatly from completing a golf course design vocational qualification with the EIGCA. The distance based course consisted of web presentations with workshops every 6 months. I completed assignments on various topics including history, construction techniques and design methods. A majority of my design work received distinctions. Show less
