  I was given the opportunity to spend 3 months in Cozumel, Mexico participating in a divemaster training and internship. During this time, I was assigned 2 mentor instructors who were in charge of teaching me dive theory and physiology in the afternoons while I was paired with various other instructors during the mornings to observe and learn divemaster techniques. After I demonstrated my competence, I was entrusted with my own groups to lead and serve. A divemaster serves the guest by preparing their equipment then planing and leading dives in a way that is educational, fun, respectful of the surrounding environment, and above all else safe for the participant.
