After years of attempting to get to football matches on my bike, I decided that something had to be done. As football became more aware of the climate crisis, research started to show how big an impact spectator travel was having on a clubs carbon footprint. As an experienced community worker, I also considered the impact on the local community to football grounds. And saw a huge problem of living urban spaces becoming polluted and dangerous car parks on matchdays. I decided to set up Pedal to the Pitch. Pedal to the Pitch encourages fans to find cleaner, greener and more enjoyable ways to get to football matches. We lead rides and walks, conduct fan research and educate fan bases. So far we have led one ride from Liverpool Street to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and have a series of events being planned for the Spring. I am responsible for all elements of Pedal to the Pitch, including managing events, applying for funding, building our network and relationships and ensuring we stay committed to our community led principles.

I have also developed new processes and updated policies to reflect the increased intake of volunteers, as well as the changing times through the pandemic. • Community Food Hub Facilitator
      • Feb 2021 - May 2022

Facilitator of a large food hub in Haringey. We distribute between 300-600 meals every Thursday to members of the community. Organising and managing a team of 6-10 volunteers, it is vital we maintain COVID-19 safe protocols, are friendly and welcoming to members of the community and adaptable to change and demand under the ongoing pandemic. Set-up and organised the running of a second food hub, where we cook food on-site and distribute to local people. Developed relationships with local organisations such as schools, hospitals and faith groups to ensure food reaches those who need it. Worked with other food activist organisations to provide extra support on special occasions such as school holidays. Published in the local paper reflecting on one year of running a food hub through a pandemic.
