  •Led project to determine if groundwater was a significant source of nutrients to an urban stream in the Lake Simcoe watershed •Published research in Journal of Hydrology Volume 528, September 2015, Pages 138–151, "Calculating discharge of phosphorus and nitrogen with groundwater base flow to a small urban stream reach" •Goal of research was to determine if groundwater was a significant source of nutrients to an urban stream in the Lake Simcoe watershed o Analyzed preliminary data to determine the best locations to install field equipment o Measured groundwater nutrient levels using sampling piezometers and passive diffusion samplers o Used the MATLAB modelling program VFLUX to calculate groundwater discharge from streambed temperature data o Combined interpolated grids of the groundwater nutrient and water flux data to calculate nutrient flux through the streambed •Collected field data using equipment such as sampling piezometers, passive diffusion samplers, seepage meters, current meters, thermistors, and slug tests •Analyzed and processed groundwater and stream water data using a variety of software, including Excel, Surfer, and MATLAB modelling programs •Presented research at the 47th Central Canadian Symposium on Water Quality Research in Burlington, Ontario (February 2012) •Work done while pursuing M.Sc. at McMaster University
