Part of the Sustainability and Corporate Affairs at Tesco, I led and worked on a number of projects to help the UK’s largest retailer meet its 2050 pledge to become a zero-carbon business. Achievements • Led a project to map the use of soy in all areas of Tesco’s business, ascertain the base-point, and then identify more opportunities for sustainable sourcing. • Researched sustainable fishing methods for the five main fish species preferred by consumers, presenting findings to key stakeholders. • After extensive testing of a range of different options, made recommendation for final selection of software used by Tesco to map all of its carbon emissions. • Successfully brought together charities, fishermen and suppliers in a project to recycle plastic marine waste.
