I am involved in a data transparency project in partnership with Open Knowledge Brazil. The project's goal is to enhance social oversight through the analysis of appointments and dismissals carried out by at least 94 municipalities in Alagoas. This project aligns with Open Knowledge's 'Querido Diário' project, which aims to promote data transparency in Brazil's official gazettes. In this project, I developed Python code to collect and transform Alagoas' official gazettes into textual format using Apache Tika with Docker. I also employed advanced text mining techniques to process the text from Alagoas' official gazettes, identify appointments, dismissals, and extract CPF numbers from text using regular expressions. I worked with the Exoonero organization and developed the website https://exoonero.org, which is a site designed to intuitively display data on appointments and dismissals in the municipal chambers of Alagoas, a Brazilian state. In this context, the website serves as the front-end of this nationally relevant data transparency project for Brazil. The site facilitates enhanced social control by enabling the analysis of appointments and dismissals over the entire available period in the municipal official gazettes, from which this data is extracted. I developed the site using Next.js, Typescript, React.js, Agile methodologies, Tailwind CSS, and GIT for code versioning. Show less
