The students tweaked these scripts to the specifics of their own design direction, and eventually came out with both an animation, and a single “best” image. Using Frank Gehry’s Washington DC installation as inspiration, the students went about fabricating their design in a number of mediums (vinyl, canvas, transparent film). I was responsible for keeping attendance, providing in class tutorials on the software / techniques we were using, compiling student materials at submissions, setting up for reviews, coordinating with fabricators, and fielding questions from students during and outside of class. I was in charge of creating a graphic strategy and then applying it to all four of the Budapest competition entries. I also worked on massing design, plan and section details, rendering, and other representations for all of the competition projects. I carried this role forward through the summer to two other projects: Mapo park in Korea, and Plovdiv Square in Bulgaria.

I was hired primarily to work along Bill Manspeaker to create and run the Taubman College render farm. In addition to this, it was my responsibility to deal with any and all technical issues that students / staff / professors brought to this help desk. This ranged from answering software questions, to troubleshooting network issues, to checking out peripherals, and even repairing computer hardware issues.
