At CA Models I currently work as an Additive Manufacturing Engineer / 3D Print Technician. Within my role I am responsible for - SLA (Stereolithography) I maintain and operate 11 machines including ProX-800, IPro-9000, IPro-8000, Pro-Jet 6000 & 7000, Vipers and an SLA-7000. Having been trained in SLA I am familiar with multiple materials and there individual qualities / impacts on products. Within my role I am responsible for - SLA (Stereolithography) I maintain and operate 11 machines including ProX-800, IPro-9000, IPro-8000, Pro-Jet 6000 & 7000, Vipers and an SLA-7000. Having been trained in SLA I am familiar with multiple materials and there individual qualities / impacts on products. Materials I run are - HPC (High Performance Composite), Bluestone, Xtreme White, Accura 25, Xtreme Grey, Somos Next and Clear-Vue. DLP (Digital Light Processing) I am also trained in using our latest two machines, Figure 4 Modular Units running materials such as - Pro-Black 10, Flex-20, Rubber 65A shore and High-Temp Amber. Additionally I have knowledge using FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) machines such as Stratasys Fortus 900, with basic knowledge using Insight software, as well as some experience operating an SLM (Selective Laser Melting) machines. Running Aluminium, Titanium and Stainless Steel, though my experience is mainly on the maintenance of the machines and finishing of parts. I also have extensive knowledge and experience using various AM / CAD software that I utilise on a daily basis, these include – Fusion 360, Materialise Magics, Insight (FDM), Grab-Cad, Google Sketchup, Blender, Sprint, 3D Manage and Lightyear. Additionally I have also trained in using traditional graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and In-Design. Recently I have started Reverse Engineering, recreating and producing parts for clients using the latest software package Geomagic Design X with the aid of a Hexagon Romer Arm. As well as the CAD work and machine set-up / maintenance, I am experienced in a more hands-on role when it comes to achieving great quality parts. Working alongside the Model- Makers to hand finish completed parts and assemble complex components.
