The TABA OU is certified in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 procedures. I have carried out two main projects: 1) design and validation of in vitro tests for diagnostic biomarkers of human neuropsychiatric diseases; 2) Quantification of neurotrophins from human sera in collaboration with DSM Nutritional Products. Additionally, I have collaborated on a project aimed at measuring serum BDNF levels in populations of patients affected by Multiple Sclerosis. • Jan 2012 - Apr 2015

My primary projects have been to assess cytokines and growth factors (including Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor, BDNF) in sera of subjects with job-related stress, Dry Eye Syndrome and Rheumatoid Arthritis patients, followed by statistical analyses of the data. Besides, I have contributed to three more additional projects: evaluation of BDNF transcripts translatability after treatment with agonists of neurotransmitter receptor; performance comparison of six commercially available ELISA kits for BDNF measurement; influence of cisplatin and aurora kinase inhibitor on endogenous BDNF production in neuroblastoma tumours. Inside the TABA O.U., I had contributed to testing biochemical assays for neurotrophin measurements, in collaboration with Biosensis. Show less
