Engineering practice within Chinese and Swiss culture

During the Master degree, I participated in the so-called China Module, which aims to bring students in direct contact with the Chinese industrial sector. It consisted in a 2-week trip through the most industrialized cities of China, visiting several international and local companies. We had the chance to explore metropolitan cities such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen. It was a great opportunity to have a close look to the incredibly fast-growing Chinese economy and to understand their processes. We visited some important Swiss multinational companies, which have subsidiaries in China, such as Schindler and Geberit. Show less

Software Engineer and Team leader

During the Master, I took part to the China Hardware Innovation Camp (CHIC) programme. I could spend a 3-weeks experience in the Chinese metropolitan cities of Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The goal was to collaborate with the local manufacturing companies to build a prototype capable of making people more aware of the quality of the air they breathe daily. I had the opportunity to cooperate with experts in the manufacturer and prototyping field as well as to exhibit my prototype to possible investors. CHIC was an immersive experience that allowed me to approach and explore a different culture and work together with teammates of complementary skills. It helped me strengthen my competencies in several aspects such as prototype development, project management, and team working. Show less

Exchange period in Germany

I took part in the Erasmus exchange programme for a period of 6 months in the city of Bremen (Germany). It was a multi-cultural and educative experience that allowed me to get in contact with people and students coming from many different countries. During the stay, I worked part-time at the ComNets laboratory (Communication Networks) at the University of Bremen. I could improve my English knowledge and start learning a new language (German). I attended two German courses: the first A2.2 and the second B1.1, both issued by the Goethe Institute. Show less
