  I’m employed in a CAD office that specializes in the reverse engineering of physical objects, such as components, products, or prototypes, into a detailed and precise digital model, developed from the 3D scan obtained in our dimensional control laboratory, either with a Zeiss Metrotom industrial tomographic machine or with a 3D laser scanner. We develop and model specific prototypes for our customers, going as far as 3D printing them with our filament and resin SLA printers, selecting appropriate printing materials based on application requirements, from basic materials such as PLA and ABS to different resin types that guarantee excellent mechanical properties.   During my twelfth grade of high school I got in touch with Eurotermo, a company specialized in the production of ball valves and brass components, where I worked as an intern for three weeks. In the first few days I was assigned to the quality control and dimensional control department, which allowed me to come in touch with laser profilometers, roughness testers and durometers that I used to check the machining results. After this I was moved to the testing laboratory, where I pursued the stress test of a brass component requested by a client; I sided with the head of the department, following him through every step of the process and learning a lot about the small details that go into a well-structured testing operation. I also learned about pentrant liquids testing and the process of stress testing of ball valves. Show less
