I had the opportunity to work with Alessandro as part of Task16 of the International Energy Agency where he was leading a subtask on Regional PV Power Production Forecasting. Under his coordination we worked at the first Technical Report 2020 of IEA PVPS Task 16 on "Regional solar power forecasting". It was a great pleasure to collaborate with him. Alessandro is an excellent data scientist. He has excellent management skills as well as a solid technical background on the topic. I hope to be able to continue collaborating with him in the future.

Development of algorithms (in collaboration with University of Pisa) aimed to improved the accuracy of star tracker sensor in the presence of warm pixels, taking into account the main noise sources (bax pixels, centroiding algorithm error, background noise, fixed pattern noise) and the constraints imposed by the available ASIC or FPGA and by the microprocessor in terms of memory and execution speed. Integration and assessment of the identified solution based on temporal filters and spatial filters in the Flight simulator. Presentation of results to customer 3. Design and maintenance of the Matlab sw for calibration of star tracker sensors 4. Development of a Matlab simulator for modelling the equipment proposed in patent WO2012046136 for the detection of 3D open airlines in a glass tube (in collaboration with University of Pisa) 5. Software unit testing of torpedo C software. Design and execution of unit tests of flight software of star tracker sensor (PROM and EEPROM modules). Tools: Cantata++ 5.3.1, IDE Eclipse 6.
