While my main responsibility was related to the National Human Development Report (NHDR), flagship UNDP publication, I also contributed to the launch of "Knua Juventude Fila-Liman", an innovative youth centre supporting entrepreneurship, skills development, community engagement and employability. BASF New Business (BNB) identifies and opens up new areas of industry beyond the core activities of BASF. To this end, we start by analyzing industry segments that show innovation potential, with a view to trends as well as unsolved problems throughout the value chain. Having identified the most significant problems, we generate ideas for possible solutions, which we then screen and filter with regard to their business potential and their unique selling points (USPs). The topics selected are then validated and developed in closest contact with the market, our main aim being to establish them as future business areas for BASF. The Industry Foresight division is the first step of this chain aiming at analyzing industry segments to identify growth areas. As Industry Foresight Intern I collaborated in the analysis of 2017's and 2016's focus industries, agriculture and nutrition respectively, including involvement in the preparation and initial proposals' assessment of a 7 digits consulting project.
