Bio
Ellen Thompson, CPT, FNS, FMS
To say Alessandra is an enterprise reporter would be an understatement. There really must be a stronger term. But until I can put my finger on it, I will simply detail what makes her one of the most impressive young reporters I have had the pleasure of working with. During the years I have known Alessandra, she has always operated on a rock solid foundation comprised of impeccable editorial judgment and unforgiving accuracy. I have since witnessed her transform into a conscientious journalist, who has a knack for source building and crafting objective articles. Alessandra asks the questions some reporters may not have thought to ask, or even worse, to scared to ask.
Frank Posillico
Alessandra is a star reporter and can find a story in sometimes even the hardest circumstances. After working with her at The Statesman, I have seen Alessandra follow a story for months on the closing of the Southampton campus. She spent a great amount of time on that piece and was able to write a concise story about the decision process that the administration took to close the campus and captured the great controversy surrounding the closure. She is dogged and resourceful, and she will not stop until she gets her story.
