  Project Team Leader to the Enhanced Implementation and Operationalization of the EAPP CC and IRB Program. (a three year program financed by the Governments of Norway & SIDA) Accomplishments: • Project management • Project packaging and preparation of project document • Drafting of the TOR for the twining arrangement and preparation of tender document (RFP) • Guidance during tendering process • Technical inputs in the development of the various tools for system operation and power trade Program Purpose: Enhance capacity and operationalize the regional Coordination Center (CC) and the regional Independent Regulatory Board (IRB). Program has various components, main ones being: Power market development (the rules and procedures for the day-ahead market & organizational arrangements, trading platform, capacity building, development of procedures & gap analysis for interconnected system operation and training under a twining arrangement; regional master plan update; formation and operationalization of technical committees (environment, planning, market and operations committees); "shadow" market exercise using the new trading platform (an exercise in a day-ahead market operation without actual dispatch); Status: Program delivered; final reports of the various components are being submitted Show less

  Started at the Engineering Department doing detailed electrical design for power transmission lines , preparation of bid/contract documents (using AfDB and World Bank procurement guidelines and the FIDIC standard bid documents), and bid evaluation, etc. Participated in many transmission projects including factory tests and project supervision. Went through quite a lot of technical and management training abroad at contractors facilities and at home. Served as head of the following work units: Purchasing Division, Transmission Design Division, Supplies Department, Claims Department, Corporate Planning Department; Also served as project manager (Emergency Diesel Project), and member of committees (Purchase Committee, Disposal Committee, Claims Committee and other ad hoc committees.); Served as board member of an enterprise for five years, and chairperson of audit committee for three other government enterprises all while serving Director of the Supplies and Corporate Planning Departments of EEPCo. 16 of the 23 years of my service spent on management position.
