I had the pleasure of working with Aleksei on the Norby robot product. As an experienced senior software engineer, Aleksei possesses a deep understanding of both frontend and backend technologies. However, it is his role as the CTO of Norby that truly showcases his remarkable personal and leadership skills. He motivated the team with his dedication and inspiring everyone to achieve their best. Aleksei consistently demonstrated exceptional logical thinking and problem-solving abilities, enabling him to navigate complex challenges with ease. His effective communication skills fostered seamless collaboration among team members, facilitating efficient project execution. Aleksei's insightful technical knowledge and astute market understanding allowed him to make informed decisions, driving the product's success. He had a keen eye for detail and a clear vision of the desired user experience. This enabled him to guide the team effectively, ensuring that the product not only met but exceeded user expectations. His technical expertise, logical thinking, communication skills, product definition abilities, and market sensitivity made him an invaluable asset. I have no doubt that Aleksei will continue to excel in future endeavors, and I wholeheartedly recommend him for any leadership or technical roles.

I have had the privilege of working closely with Aleksei for nearly half a decade and have consistently been impressed by his expertise in the field, as well as his dedication to guiding and supporting his team as a Chief Technology Officer. His expertise spans a wide range of areas, including software development, system architecture, cloud computing, and MVP development. Whenever our team faced complex technical challenges, Aleksei was always ready with innovative solutions and insightful guidance. His ability to analyze problems from different perspectives and provide effective strategies during difficult times is truly commendable. What truly sets Aleksei apart is his authenticity. He genuinely cares about the well-being and professional growth of his employees. Aleksei is truly one of the best human I have ever met and had the pleasure to work with. I am forever grateful for the guidance and knowledge he shared, and the work ethic he demonstrated. In May 2014, I transitioned from a role of a consultant to Technical Lead at eCommerce Websites. My time was split between developing custom functionality, and project managing the Harvey Norman Group, while at the same time building the next generation of our ecommerce platform, ShopFrontPro. The new generation would transition from an old, one installation per client model, to a cloud-based, scalable, central codebase with individual asset repository. The new generation would transition from an old, one installation per client model, to a cloud-based, scalable, central codebase with individual asset repository. This allowed for greater maintainability, scalability, but more importantly, it kept developers sane and happy! The platform of choice for the new ShopFrontPro version was AWS. Over the course of a few months, my team and I have designed and built the new infrastructure and transitioned all of the existing clients. The Harvey Norman Group is split across multiple regions with tools in place to help us deploy changes, daily, if required. The speed of development delivered by the team, and how quickly we can roll out new changes, have allowed Harvey Norman to explore and experiment with different features rapidly. Having pushed our resources to the limit, the company decided to branch out internationally and build a dedicated team whose sole purpose is to look after the Harvey Norman Group. In July 2014, the CEO Adrian Mullan and I took a trip to South East Asia and established an office in Manila, Phillippines. Over the following months and numerous trips to Manila we have hired a team of developers, designers, copywriters, QA, DevOps and a Tech Lead. During our search for a Tech Lead for the Manila office, I conducted interviews, devised a technical evaluation test for candidates, ran technical training sessions and performance evaluations. Did a couple of short consulting jobs, before engaging eCommerce Websites on a more continuous basis. Started out by automating a huge chunk of the store provisioning process and cut down manual tasks by about 85%, which helped eliminate a large number of human-error related issue. I then moved on to building custom add-ons for larger clients. My invovlement with AFA Insurance's online quoting and binding started out as a custom module built for Komodo CMS. It was going to be a basic online insurance quote calculator. Once I helped AFA discover what was possible to build from a technical point of view and the impact this could have on their business, what started out as a mere calculator, morphed into a sophisticated tool, which to this day is being expanded and refined.
