Currently, I am finishing my PhD under the direction of Isabel García Álvarez in the Department of Biological Chemistry, carrying out chemical synthesis processes in order to combat chronic inflammation in neurodegenerative diseases. During these years, I have acquired skills for the design and synthesis of molecules, as well as the processes of purification and identification of relevant compounds for their in vitro evaluation. Internship student to carry out the Master's Thesis at the National Center for Biotechnology (CNB), laboratory "Molecular Biology of Birnavirus". Generation of a defective cell line for the expression of the IFNAR2 interferon receptor using the CRISPR/Cas9 technology, and its gene silencing by silencing RNAs (siRNAs), for the study of the infectious bursitis virus (IBDV) infection pathways in avian DF1 cells. Also i learned the T7 endonuclease assay in conjunction with modified vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV-GFP) infection and selection of cell lines modified by their response to IFNa. Show less

Internship student for the completion of the Master's thesis at the National Center for Microbiology, the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) under the tutelage of Ana García Avellón. During this time, I was conducting molecular studies (rtPCR) and sequence analysis of proline-rich hypervariable region of hepatitis E virus and the potential implications of genomic rearrangements in each genotype and subtype with the illness development. My Final Degree project was carried out at the CBGP, in the impediment of the interaction between plant and arthropod. I studied the interaction of HCPro proteins in VLPs (virus-like particles) of Potyvirus capsid with their respective vectors, under the tutelage of Fernando Ponz. At the same time, I also studied the interaction of arthropod protease inhibitors and developed, through VLP technology, a possible expression vector of fusion proteins for insecticidal purposes, in the laboratory of Isabel Díaz. Both studies are from the branch of viral nanobiotechnology. During my stay, I acquired skills for the generation of particles based on the turnip mosaic virus, through the superimposition of the PCR and the subsequent handling of the sequence and the agroinfiltration in Nicotiana benthamiana, the collection of the generated proteins and the analysis by WESTERN and ELISA.
