Project "emPoWeReD: Promote Decent Work, Rights and Dignity for Domestic Workers" to empower domestic workers, increasing their CSOs representation and negotiation capacity with employers and in policy dialogue. Project co-funded by donors Irish Aid and APA. Project implementation in close collaboration with the International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) and the Tanzanian trade union CHODAWU. - Domestic workers empowering and awareness-raising about labour law and human rights; capacity building of domestic workers association leaders through design and implementation of training. - Supporting 3 domestic workers associations with 800+ registered workers; improving in membership involvement, working conditions, salaries and promotion of written contracts; legal and mutual aid. - Organising monthly assemblies in Swahili/English (30+ workers per assembly) and workers recruitment, including door-to-door. - Informal workers labour and gender empowerment; workers and public awareness-raising about labour rights. - Co-designing parallel multi-stakeholder campaign to lobby the government to ratify by Tanzania of ILO Convention 189 and raising public awareness on human and labour rights. - Formation of key stakeholders (paralegals, faith-based organisations, district officers) on domestic workers related issues and rights. - Support of returning and potential migrant domestic workers; lobbying for the institution of a bilateral safe migration policy. - Developing and managing Excel database for domestic workers mapping; data analysis, elaboration and collection through interview questionnaires. - Coordination with national and international partners and donors for activity planning and implementation. - Follow up and report to the project manager on the progress of the activities. - Supporting project manager in monitoring and evaluation of project activities.
