Maintain digital evidence as required under RCSD policy and the Evidence Recovery Act. Ensure that the data is securely handled and processed. Ensure the video evidence is not altered with the exception of any victim, privacy or juvenile issues: as set forth by department policy or law. Ensure transparency , This position is also responsible for the collection and handling of the digital evidence to ensure its guaranteed authenticity and integrity as needed for legal proceedings, internal affairs request and Citizen Advisory Council request. Ensure that Freedom of Information Act Requests are tracked, coordinated and responded to in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure that connectivity with the Solicitor’s Office Prosecutorial Platform is streamlined and coordinated. Technical support to the RCSD Training Division and Users of the BWC. Inspects officers and BWC equipment to ensure compliance with all regulations. Maintains all data captured and ensures that it is properly uploaded to evidence.com. IT Infrastructure responsibilities for the BWC Program. Audit the use of BWC, Trigger Point Activations and determines if additional training is required whether: customer service, professional standards, officer or citizen safety or Technical in nature. Compliance with SC H3685 with the responsibility for the ETicket submissions to SCDMV – requiring all citations are submitted within 3 days. Remains abreast of all federal and state laws, and ordinances of Richland County; informs subordinates of any changes and ensures the implementation/enforcement of same. Maintains assigned equipment and vehicles. Assists other law enforcement agencies and jurisdictions as required. Receives and responds to citizen inquiries, complaints and requests for assistance. Attends periodic training sessions and attends seminars and meetings to keep abreast of current law enforcement trends; maintains required physical fitness and required level of proficiency in the use of firearms.
