I really enjoyed working with Lauren. Her hard work ethic is obvious to everyone around her, as she never shies away from any challenge. Lauren is honest when she isn't familiar with a particular technology or tool, yet determined to learn and expand her knowledge. Lauren knows the balance of spending time to figure things out vs. ask others for help, which is a fine line to tread. Lauren has a great attitude that really lights up the room. No matter what roadblocks she runs into, she is persistent and never gives up in the face of a challenge. Moreover, she goes beyond mere platitudes and really cares about her coworkers and team. I really miss working with Lauren, and any team lucky enough to have her as a member will experience

It was a pleasure managing Lauren in her Data Science role at Limeade. I've never met someone who is a better example of having a growth mindset. Her nickname was "Lauren-I'm-not-afraid-Wilson" because she was always fearless in volunteering for challenging projects. For example, when our team needed to migrate our codebase from AWS to Azure, she volunteered to take on more of the codebase than anyone else. Even though she had to learn a new tool (DBT) and had to understand and rewrite a complicated codebase, she did an amazing job! Lauren was also a great communicator. She built impressive data dashboards. She also presented to leadership multiple times and was an engaging speaker. Lauren was also a leader on the team, organizing team events and leading a project on reducing customer burnout. On a personal note, Lauren cared about everyone and was always interested in how her teammates were doing. She is a great listener and always has a positive attitude. She is also very supportive of her teammates and goes out of her way to cheer them on and encourage them. Whenever I had a conversation with her, I always felt better afterwards. She was so amazing to have on the team. Because of her growth mindset, communication/leadership skills, and her caring/positive attitude, she's a great addition to any Data Science team.

During my time at UTSA, I immersed myself in the field of Data Analytics, honing my skills in statistical modeling, programming languages, system analysis, and Agile methodologies. I also developed vital soft skills like teamwork and public speaking. I was recognized for my exceptional work on a Capstone Computer Vision project, using transfer learning to predict stock out in store shelving. This project utilized innovative methods, including side-by-side video comparison, to evaluate accuracy. I received the Outstanding Non-Thesis Project Awards and a $2000 prize for my achievements. Worked in an administrative role for a popular, local youth sports league. My responsibilities included data entry into an Excel database and analyzing through pivot tables, data wrangling via Excel functions, and reporting dashboards. I worked directly with the founder and management in the day-to-day operations. I held many responsibilities including being the holder of physical keys, company receivables, and passwords to sensitive data. I gained management skills in this position when left in charge of 2 counselors and 25+ campers in the organization's youth summer camp. I also obtained public speaking experience during this time giving team updates to parents and coaches at the end of practices or award ceremonies. Show less

Worked as a loan officer approving and denying pay-day loans. I was responsible for opening and closing the location, assessing customer's based on financial data points, and bank-drops at the end of a business day. This role required emotional intelligence and also introduced me to financial statements and how to analyze those documents in real-time. I eventually left this role due to how I felt offering high interest loans to people going through financial hardships. Worked as a loan officer approving and denying pay-day loans.
