I was Alastair’s line manager from 2018 to 2021 in the UKAR Transaction team where we worked together on complex asset sale transactions. During this time I was impressed with Alastair’s ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to step forward and take on additional responsibility to help colleagues achieve team objectives in addition to managing his own work load. Whilst we worked remote from each other at different UKAR offices, I quickly developed a confidence in Alastair’s ability and commitment to complete work with the minimum of supervision, with Alastair always willing to communicate and update me on the progress of his workload. During his time in the Transaction Team, Alastair developed a good understanding of the ‘Transaction Lifecycle’ and he assumed responsibility for working with third parties to manage operational and due diligence aspects of the asset sale transactions. Alastair is intuitive, smart and a pragmatic problem solver with a keen attitude to learn. It was a pleasure to have worked with Alastair and would not hesitate to employ Alastair again in the future.

I worked with Alastair in the Asset Sales team at UKAR. Alastair was instrumental in the execution of some large asset sales and the sale of the Bradford and Bingley and NRAM legal entities. He is very dilligent and capable, his main responsibities were co-ordinating and responding to bidder questions which involved liasising internally and with our suppliers, due diligence in relation to the assets and the companies and ensuring all the information was provided to the bidders and correctly documented. He also needed to understand the structure and legal aspects of the sale (including the risks that we and the purchasers faced in relation to the sale and the loans). He developed an excellent understanding of the loan assets, the bidders funding structures and the sales process. He is great team player and I really enjoyed working with him. If you would like a reference please feel free to contact me. Alison Galt
