  Network Radius is an international team of remote authentication experts headed by FreeRADIUS founder and leader Alan DeKok. The team specializes in the development, design, and support of high performance, high-availability RADIUS systems for Internet Service Provider (ISP) and corporate network clients. The Network Radius team offers 24/7 support plans for Fortune 500 companies, carriers, telcos, ISPs, and enterprises who rely heavily on FreeRADIUS for network authentication, authentication, and accounting. They also deliver custom development services for clients who need to extend their FreeRADIUS systems with more capacity or new features. A growing number of clients are hiring the team to assist with migration to FreeRADIUS away from more troublesome, costly, and lower-performing proprietary authentication systems.



FreeRADIUS Project

  Alan DeKok founded the open-source FreeRADIUS Project with Miquel van Smoorenburg in 1999 - a project which led to the development of the world's most widely used Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) software. Originally, Mr. DeKok implemented much of the FreeRADIUS server core, including most IEEE 802.1x protocols such as EAP-TTLS, EAP-MSCHAPv2, and LEAP. He also wrote and the Apache and PAM authentication modules More recently, the project has continued to grow under the leadership of Mr. DeKok, who maintains the FreeRADIUS.org site, and manages new releases and patches, while ensuring that server design evolves to serve the network technology ecosystem. Mr. DeKok continues to serve as acting security contact and contact for commercial organizations using the product, as well as working with standards bodies such as the IETF to extend and update the RADIUS protocol.

  Alan DeKok has been a very active participant and contributor to the work of this global standards body, He has been particularly active in workgroups related to remote authentication - RADIUS and AAA - as well as RADEXT, DIME, ForCES, Precis, and Abfab.Alan has authored a number of core RADIUS RFCs (see Publications below).

• Co-chair, EMU (EAP Method Update) Working Group

  Alan DeKok served as co-chair for this working group of this IETF Working Group, which was tasked with modernizing the approach to Extensible Authentication Protocol as part of the effort to create a new standard EAP authentication method.
