Waiver Service Provider (WSP)
-
Feb 2015 - Present
As a Waiver Service Provider (WSP), I provide social services to special needs children who are either in the Bridges 2 Health(B2H) program or apart of an Office of Mental Health (OMH) program. B2H is a program for special needs children who are in foster care and OMH is program for special needs children who are in danger of being placed in foster care. The services I provide are skill building, which is working towards the child's social or educational goals. I also provide planned respite, which is a temporarily relief for the parent or caregiver, it is also used to work on the child's social or educational goals. I have also been trained in crisis management, which helps me to understand and determine the difference between a child having a heated moment or an emergency. Show less

Representative of CUNY Service Corps
-
Aug 2013 - Jun 2014
As a CUNY Service Corps representative, I worked at the American Museum of Natural History. I gave tours on dinosaurs to children and adults. I also worked in the Sackler Lab and in the Discovery Room. While in the Sackler Lab I helped to educate children on Anthropology and work on labs that raised awareness to chemicals that are in food. In the Discovery Room I mostly educated children on the room and played with them. As a CUNY Service Corps representative, I worked at the American Museum of Natural History.
