As the Operations Unit Controller, I’m responsible for safe operation of a 500MW unit at best possible efficiency whilst ensuring the unit complies with environmental limits on a continuous shift basis. I also train equipment operators with an emphasis on safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Troubleshoot and make adjustments by adjusting valves, gauges and set points to faulty equipment as well as adhere to strict regulations defined within the pulverised fuel code of practice and dangerous substance explosive atmosphere regulations.
