He would be a great asset to your team/teams. Alan, is well educated, very polite and empathetic, and a great team player. He isn't afraid to get his hands dirty if the job calls for it. Alan is a self driven individual as well, so you will never have to micro manage him, and he prefers that. If I had a spot for him currently I would hire him tomorrow!
