Assistant Director
-
Jun 2007 - Aug 2010
Over four summers at KidRealm camps, I rose from Counselor-in-Training to Assistant Director. KidRealm camps, for children ages 8 to 12, are unique and creative "thinking theme" camps with themes including Young Wizards, Young Explorers, Time Machine, Science, and the Renaissance. These camps were high-energy and attended by children of all backgrounds including many who had learning disabilities. I used creative skills to devise original games and activities and taught these to groups of 20 to 30 children. I helped children learn to value healthy competition while dealing with the disappointment of losing. I managed the CIT program and supervised groups of 6 to 12 CITs ages 13 to 15 years. I collaborated with other counselors and camp managers to tackle problems and assure smooth camp operations. I helped run the camp store setting prices on merchandise, assisting camper customers, and completing sales. Show less

Enumerator
-
Apr 2010 - Jun 2010
I served as an enumerator for the 2010 decennial U.S. Census. Working independently, I visited the homes of non-respondents to collect their decennial census information. Owing to my success in obtaining responses from survey non-responders and my ability to protect confidential information, I was assigned the most intransigent cases. I also verified the work of others. I served as an enumerator for the 2010 decennial U.S. Census.
