As Chief Steward, I was the department head for a Stewarding team of 60+ colleagues and 7 leaders. In this role, I managed and maintained cleanliness standards and operational equipment needs for the Hotel’s expansive Food and Beverage operations. I was responsible for ensuring the simultaneous execution of many time sensitive tasks, regularly communicating with the many leaders and colleagues of our Hotel to ensure effective support of my team where needed. While managing the operations of my team, I would personally lead daily training of chemical use and related safety compliance. I was also responsible for planning and executing large scale operational and capital procurement, forecasting and providing commentary on monthly labour budgets, creating and maintaining detailed inventories and executing my own training programs, among many other tasks.
