  - Documenting UNHCR's presence and activities in the country by providing high quality and compelling human interest stories, videos and photos that can generate support to UNHCR Libya and empathy for our persons of concern and in line with operational priorities. - Expanding UNHCR's media archive by providing high resolution photos and video aligned to MENA/HQ requirements that can be used both internally and externally shared, when necessary, with broadcasters. - Strengthening connections and interactions with colleagues in MENA/HQ when processing video and other stories for UNHCR outlets which involve collaborative editing. - Providing clear captions, metadata, story backgrounders with images to share globally in operation via Refugees Media page. - Continuing to maintain/upgrade technical skills. - Keeping ER unit alerted to breaking news developments/media reports/news trends that might require follow up media reaction/comment so UNHCR has a voice in ongoing conversations. - Maintaining and update journalistic contacts in Libya. - Identifying stories/opportunities that the ER unit can develop/follow up and key trends for proactive communications and help identifying opportunities to insert messaging about UNHCRs work and mandate. - Enhancing the unit's response to other team's activities by working closely with other units on field missions and trips and ensure ER unit is aware of upcoming activities and visits for calendar planning. - Providing detailed reports after field visits on the visits to colleagues working remotely for swift turn-around of stories. - Providing support for HQ visits/campaigns/visits with head of mission. - Supporting joint agency projects and broader UN activities (eg HRP/UNSMIL/WFP food project; UNICEF BluePrint). - Gathering compelling photos and video and identifying powerful stories to showcase UNHCRs response and testimonies by people we work with through undertaking field missions Show less
